February 14th is coming up fast! And no Valentine’s Day celebration is complete without a delicious cocktail.
Below are three delicious cocktails, ranging from the simple to expert level. Whether you want to partake in some bubbles, add a little heat, or sip on the perfect balance of sweet and tart, each cocktail is just perfect for toasting to your loved one on Valentine’s Day.

Rossini

(Simple)

Do you want to impress your date but don’t feel up to buying eight different ingredients to do so? We’ve got you. This simple Rossini recipe is the perfect cocktail. Strawberries go hand in hand with Valentine’s Day and also pull double duty by working perfectly with champagne.

*(Note, we suggest straining the puree through a cheesecloth, to make a smoother drink)

Ingredients

  • 1 oz of Strawberry Puree
  • 3 oz of Chilled Sparkling Wine
  • 30 ml of Strawberry Puree
  • 90 ml of Chilled Sparkling Wine

How to Make

Pour chilled strawberry puree into iced champagne glass. Top with sparking wine and garnish with fresh strawberry. (We did tell you it was simple).

Heart Shaped Box

(Intermediate)

Full disclosure, out of the three cocktails you will see, this is my favourite. This cocktail is just delicious, plain and simple. This cocktail is super well balanced with tartness and a touch of sweet and spice. The original recipe (from the legendary Death & Co: Modern Classic Cocktails) calls for elderflower liqueur. Still, we switched it out for Gilford’s Peach Liqueur for a more bright, citrus flavour. The key to this more daring cocktail is the balsamic vinegar which adds an acidic note that bumps up this cocktail from ordinary to extraordinary.. This drink is a seriously sexy cocktail that you both will enjoy.

Ingredients

  • Walnut Smoke
  • 2 oz of Cognac
  • 3/4 oz of Peach Liqueur
  • 3/4 oz Lemon Juice
  • 1/4 oz Cinnamon Bark Syrup
  • 1/4 oz Balsamic Vinegar
  • 1 whole Strawberry
  • 1 dash of Creole Bitters
  • Walnut Smoke
  • 60 mL of Cognac
  • 22 ml of Peach Liqueur
  • 22 mL of Lemon Juice
  • 7 mL of Cinnamon Bark Syrup
  • 7 ml of Balsamic Vinegar
  • 1 Whole Strawberry
  • 1 dash of Creole Bitters

How to Make

First, muddle the strawberry in your cocktail shaker. Add the rest of the ingredients, and shake until contents are combined and chilled (15 to 20 seconds). Double strain into rocks glass with ice.
