Orange & Star Anise Simple Syrup
Is there anything better than the warm taste of Star Anise in the winter?
This syrup is warm, spicy, and sweet, but it also has lovely bright, citrusy notes with the dehydrated orange wheels.
Just beware; this will become your favourite syrup very, very quickly.

What do you think?
Combine the water and the sugar in a small sauce pan, at medium heat. Bring to a simmer, until the sugar has completely dissolved. Next add the star anise and orange wheels, and lower the heat. Simmer for at least 15 minutes, or until desired intensity. The longer you let your ingredients simmer, the more intense the flavour.
This syrup will keep up for at least two 2 weeks, stored in a sealed jar.
